The Villas of Rome
1. VILLA DORIA PAMPHILJ

It the largest amongst the Roman Villas, featuring green amphpaths, woods with magnificent fountains, and beautiful places to rest.
2. Villa Borghese - Pincio
Pinciano, Parioli, Flaminio Neighborhood
The most central park, inside houses the Borghese Gallery and the Museum of the same name. The Villa has large green areas with Italian gardens and fountains of all kinds.
3. Caffarella Park
Appio Neighborhood
The Valley of the Caffarella is an alluvial valley created by the river Almone, still rich in water today, which emerges from aquifers and springs. It extends from Via Appia Antica to the Via Latina and takes its name from the family Caffarelli, owner of the great estate that stretched across the valley. Today the place name is also used to indicate an urban area located in the valley itself
4. Villa sciarra
Monteverde Neighborhood
It is a small Villa that in the past has witnessed the resistance of the Roman Republic. Until 1928 the villa was owned by a couple of Americans and later donated to the city.
5. Monte Mario
Flaminio Neighborhood
It offers one of the most beautiful views across Rome.
6. Ancient Appia
Appio Neighborhood
The Appia Antica street represents the example of a perfectly preserved ancient Roman road. The road is surrounded by a magnificent park, protected by the Region, against unauthorized building. Every Sunday, the ancient street is closed to traffic, and can be easily reached on foot or by bicycle, you can start the walk from the mausoleum of Cecilia Metella to the Grande Raccordo Anulare.
7. Villa Torlonia
Nomentano Neighborhood
It features a typical Italian garden, and includes interesting Liberty style buildings, such as the Villino Rosso, the Medieval Village, and the famous Casetta delle Civette. From 1925 to 1943 Villa Torlonia was the residence of the Mussolini family, and later in 1944-47 was the seat of the British and American command.
8. Villa Ada
Salario Neighborhood
This villa has areas of different ages, and occupies a large green area with woods and gardens that follow the style of the English gardens.
9. Villa Celimontana
Celio Neighborhood
Its wonderful park is always ready to offer to the tired tourist, and to the Roman who wants to escape from the daily routine, well-located places for pleasant stops. Villa Celimontana is within easy reach of the Colosseum and the archaeological area of Palatine. The Villa is home to the Italian Geographic Society
10. Villa Glori
Parioli Neighborhood
The Villa is located on the boundary of the Parioli district, the entrance is via the Piazzale della Rimembranza, where the Garibaldi army clashed with the papal army in 1867. Near the Villa you can reach the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
11. Garden of Oranges (Savello Park)
Aventino Neighborhood
The charming Garden is located on the top of the Aventino hill: from here you will have a special observation point, both towards the Circus Maximus and the Tiber and Trastevere. The entrance is on Via Santa Sabina.
12. Park of Aqueduts
Appio Neighborhood
Parco degli Acquedotti is an urban green area of Rome, in the Town Hall VII, part of the Suburban Regional Park of the ancient Appia. The name derives from the presence in elevated or underground seven, roman and papal aqueducts that supplied ancient Rome: Anio Vetus (underground), March, Tepula, Iulia and Felice (overlapping), Claudio and Anio Novus (overlapping). In the past the area was known as Old Rome by the name of the homonymous farmhouse.
